We are launching a campaign to build a modern, open exhibit for our Capuchin Monkeys. This new space will allow these intelligent and energetic animals to express their natural behaviors, enhancing their well-being and delighting our visitors with more engaging and educational experiences.

With the support of several generous businesses, we have already secured a significant portion of the build. However, we still need an additional $25,000 to cover the costs of materials. Your contribution will directly impact the lives of our capuchins, providing them with a spacious, enriching environment where they can thrive.

About us

Natureland is a wildlife park in the top of the south island focused on community and conservation. We have a range of domestic, native and exotic animals and contribute to three successful breed for release programs.

Use of funds

All funds raised will be dedicated to building a new den for the Capuchins. This heated space will provide a comfortable overnight shelter and a safe haven during bad weather. It will enable keepers to do daily health checks, ensuring our Capuchin's well-being.

A Huge Thank You – Our Capuchins Are Home! 10 September 2026

We wanted to share one final update and, most importantly, say thank you.

What started as a much-needed replacement for our ageing enclosure became a true community project. From the generous donations made through Givealittle to the many local businesses, organisations and individuals who donated time, materials, skills and support, so many people played a part in making this happen.

The new enclosure is now complete, and our capuchins are loving their new space! They have room to climb, explore, forage, play and spend time together, with plenty of new opportunities for natural behaviours. Watching them settle in and make the space their own has made all the hard work worthwhile.

We are incredibly grateful to everyone who donated, shared our campaign, volunteered, donated materials or simply cheered us on. Every contribution, big or small, helped us get closer to creating a better home for these amazing animals.
