Help Build Timor-Leste’s First Cricket Ground and Change Lives...
Wellington, Kapiti Coast District
Timor-Leste is overcoming poverty and past conflict to shape a brighter future for its youthful population with it's median age of just 21.
Cricket gives young people hope and is growing in Timor-Leste. After many years hard work we are proud to have become the latest member of the International Cricket Council (ICC) which is very exciting. However, players have no proper ground to train or host matches. Games are played on rough fields and makeshift pitches, which limits how far the sport can develop, especially for young people and girls who are just discovering cricket.
We want to change that. With your help, we’re raising funds to build the first dedicated cricket ground in Timor-Leste. This will give boys and girls a safe and welcoming place to play, train, and dream big. It will also allow Timor-Leste to host local competitions, school cricket days, and even welcome teams from the wider Asia-Pacific region.
Your donation will be used to:
- Level and prepare the land for safe play
- Install a cricket pitch and practice nets.
- Build a basic club house for players and storing equipment
- Build a fence to keep the local animals out !
Funds will be collected through my New Zealand account, and then transferred directly to the Timor-Leste Cricket Federation to support the development of the new ground. Updates will be posted to keep donors informed.
Please help us change young lives in Timor-Leste through cricket...
