A wonderful woman has been denied publicly funded IVF due to her age, however she would be an unbelievable mum and deserves a shot at it.
Auckland
I have been friends with this wonderful woman, Tracie Jelavich, for approx. 25 years and we have been through a lot together. She has faced many challenges in life and yet is one of the happiest, toughest and most positive bubbly people I know. The love and support she has given her family over the years has been phenomenal and she currently helps young girls as a Guide Leader. She has so much boundless love to give!
Recently engaged (hooray!), she and her fiance have been denied public funding for IVF due to her age even though at the time of their application she was within the accepted range. This seems to be completely unfair to me.
She would be one of the most amazing, loving, caring, super fun, generous and supportive mothers the world has even seen. The children she brings into the world would be such wonderful people and you can never have too many of them.
I wholeheartedly believe that she absolutely deserves the chance to be a mum and to deny this seems like the cruelest act. I would happily offer donor eggs or surrogacy if I could but unfortunately I had my own fertility issues and would be no help to her in that way. This is the best way I can think to help. Even if we don't get the full amount, any small amount might just be enough to help them make it happen, even contributions of $5 or $10 can add up and make a difference. Please help make her dreams come true.
Tracie and I have been friends for approx. 25 years and she is a phenomenal person who needs some help. She is not the type of person to ask for help but I felt like I had to try to help. Thank you in advance.
The money will go towards the cost of an IVF cycle.
