Help Dale get home to the UK for his Dad's funeral.
Wellington
Hi everyone.
I am sad to share that my awesome friend and colleague Dale is going through a really difficult time. Sadly, his Dad 'Stevo' Majer suddenly passed away on Sunday 2nd May.
Dale speaks fondly of his Dad and how he was a legend in Rotherham, loved by all. In 2008 Dale and his brother lost their beautiful Mum Christine to Pancreatic cancer. They lost a part of their Dad then too. Dale is understandably devastated, in this time of sadness he takes some solace knowing that his mum and dad are together again and can rest in peace. On top of dealing with this, he now faces huge challenges in trying to get home.
It is important for Dale to get home to the UK from New Zealand where he currently lives in order to support his brother and family, to lay his Dad to rest and say Goodbye and to help in getting everything sorted. Dale's partner Sarah will be with him for support in one of the toughest times of his life.
This would be challenging enough in a normal world, let alone in our current situation with Covid-19. Dale's travel overseas is proving extremely challenging due to travel conditions and restrictions.
Travelling back to the UK during the pandemic currently involves flights, numerous rounds of Covid testing in both countries, managed isolation/quarantine on his return let alone all the other financial aspects of being away from work for an extended period. We are looking to help Dale financially towards the huge expenses he is facing.
Dale has many friends who want to help him out in this difficult and upsetting time and to make some part of his life easier right now. We've set up this page to make that possible.
Anything you may be able to spare to help Dale and Sarah get back to the UK to say goodbye to his Dad and sort out affairs would be so gratefully received. Any money raised over and above what they require for this journey and quarantine will be donated to the British Heart Foundation.
Let's do this for 'Daley' (as his Dad called him.)
Thank you so much.

We want to say again a massive heartfelt thank you to you all for you generosity and kindness in helping raise funds to help Dale get back to the UK.
Dale has been at home organising his Dad's funeral which took place last week. He was there with his brother Neil to say Goodbye to his Dad and give him the send off he deserved. It's been emotional for them all but they couldn't have been there without your amazing support.
Now Dale and Sarah have some space to process this journey and they have expressed how very, very grateful they are to each one of you.
Thank you x
