Helping Dan and his family in his recovery from a serious heart attack
Masterton, Wellington
Daniel (Dan) Jakes - most people will know him as the face of PAK’nSAVE Masterton. The first person you see when you arrive and the last when you leave - he's out there rain or shine with a smile on collecting the trolleys. Dan has been a member of the team from the day the store opened. Always happy, always smiling and always up for a yarn. As you can see in the photo Dan loved his country music, you may have even heard him singing a tune as he pushed the trolleys around.
As many of you know, Dan recently suffered a very serious heart attack. A co-worker performed CPR on him until the ambulance arrived and he was thankfully brought back to life with the help of the Wellington Free Ambulance and Masterton Fire Brigade. He has been in Wellington hospital ICU for the last 2 weeks and is battling to recover.
Many people have asked if they can do anything so this page has been set up to help Dan and his family in this extremely tough time. Especially with the extra costs for his family of going to and from Wellington, accommodation, parking and food. If you can help, it would be massively appreciated by both Dan and his family. Longer term anything extra will help Dan recover whilst he cannot work.
Dan works for me at PAK'n SAVE Masterton
Initially travel to and from Wellington, food and accommodation for Dan's family so that they can be there to support him. Longer term, to help Dan out financially whilst he cannot work.
