  • DOMS SMALL GIFT

      18 August 2021

Cherie and i started looking for a watch that keep an eye on hid temp and blood oxygen heart rate etc, why we were floating between the Ronald McDonald house and hospital daily/3daily for chemo and medication/checkups, after a bit of hunting we found one, and Dom over heard us chatting about it, and said buy 10 mum and i can give them to other kids in the ward, we looked at each other ,and said "why not" so we did, and this is the reply we got back with our purchase, not only did he ask to help 9 children, but ended up helping every sick child in hospital around the world, have a small read, but i am just so proud of him for thinking of others wen he is doing it hard himself. my hero

Having gone through this battle I just feel so sad you are living this roller coaster ride. None of it is easy and I wish you whatever you need to have every day. 12 years later I still wonder why? There is no reason and it isn't fair. I send "you can do this" feelings to you all every day.

Quick update on Dom..the two pills that Dom are called dasatinib and he takes this before and after transplant has made him go off his food a little but is trying his best..small lots of food at a time and the other pill is called posaconazole this is for the fungal infection in lungs that has cleared up alot but docs are keeping him on it to make sure it doesn't come back at all.he is also hooked up to a pump that he will need to carry around for a month or so and that medical in that's called blinatumomab and that's to help with the relapse of the Philadelphia chromosome and to help build up antibody to get his body ready for transplant.he is also on potassium pills as his levels were a little low.he also takes cotrimoxazole in weekend to prevent him getting sick.he's doing so well and super proud of him..

  • Update on how doms been

      8 August 2021

Dom is handling things pretty good..even though at the moment he is on 8 pills a day and having to go back to hospital everyday to get IV antibiotics.it is differently taking a toll on his poor body and not eating as much as he should and getting very tired and weak alot more and looks very white alot of the time.now days it's hard to even get a smile from him. we will back on the ward tomorrow to start our next cycle.i don't he's to far from getting a NG tube in to try keep his weight on cause the smell of food makes him sick..very heart breaking tryna see him take his meds and he ends up been very ill..it's hard watching him go though this.

  • Update on op Dom had today

      29 July 2021
    Main image

Just an update on doms bacterial infection in his lungs.he had CT last week to find out that he had a bacterial infection so they then gave him a bronchoscopy and they found he had mucor species and started treated it pretty fast but over the last week Dom hasn't really improved.so off he went for another CT yestherday that it hasnt got any better so the doctors booked him in for a lung biopsy today.he was put on the acute list and we waited all day till 2:30pm to be taken in and they have two sets of biopsy from his lungs.very scarry stuff..now Dom has woken up from this and is in alot of pain and been put on some heavy pain killers.even just coughing isn't nice :( but he still got his pizza he wanted and seems to be just chilled out.very brave boy he is

Poor wee Dom has been having high temps in the 39 plus. the past 5 days and has been put on 4 different antibiotics with no change at all.then at 4am his temp has drop right down to 31.1 and heart rate also dropping down to 48.we had many doctors from different wards rushed up to us to help alside our own doctors they have pumping fuilds through his body and has a special blanket called the bear hugger to bring his temp up in hope that will bring his heart rate back up.this has help bring it up to 60 but no where near where it should be.also yestherday he went for CT to find out cause of fever and they found bacterial fungal in his lungs so he will be going into surgery tomorrow for a Broncos ostomy to pin point what sort of bacteria it is to start treating it with the right antibiotics. He is now getting ready to be moved to intensive care. 😢😢💜💜
