Please help Jo during these tough times, as she works through her own issues while she and Blake grieve the tragic loss of Dylan.

Waikato

Our dear friend Jo has shown incredible strength while dealing with her own personal issues. Now, Jo and her eldest son Blake face an even greater heartbreak: the sudden loss of their beloved Dylan in a tragic car accident. As Jo and Blake navigate this overwhelming grief, we want to come together as a community to support them with the costs of Dylan’s funeral and to help ease some of the financial burden during this devastating time. Note the family have applied to ACC for a funeral grant, which (if approved) will also help.

If you are able, please consider donating—every little bit will make a difference and show Jo and Blake that they are not alone. Your kindness and generosity will help them focus on healing and honoring their son and brother's memory.

Thank you for your support.

I met Jo when our boys were rowing for Hamilton Boys' High School. She always gave selflessly of her time, often helping out at rowing camps and volunteering for many hours at regattas.

Use of funds

The funds will help with the costs of Dylan’s funeral and also help to ease some of the financial burden during this devastating time.

Update: In Loving Memory of Jo  14 September 2026

It is with great sadness that we share that Jo passed away peacefully this morning Monday 14th September with Blake by her side.

After enduring the unimaginable loss of her beloved son Dylan, Jo faced her own journey with remarkable courage, strength, and grace. Those who knew her will remember her generosity, kindness, and unwavering dedication to her family, friends, and community.

On behalf of Jo's family, we would like to express our deepest gratitude to everyone who donated, shared messages of support, provided meals, made phone calls, and surrounded Jo and Blake with love during an incredibly difficult time. Your kindness eased some of the financial burden and, more importantly, reminded them that they were not alone.

The support shown through this page has meant more than words can express. Jo knew she was cared for by a community that held her and Blake close during their darkest days.

We ask that you keep Blake and the wider family in your thoughts as they navigate another heartbreaking loss. A celebration of Jo's life is confirmed for 11am Friday at Newstead Chapel, Hamilton Park Cemetery.

With sincere thanks and appreciation,

Karen & Diane
