Help Eduardo Come Home ❤️

Eduardo is a hardworking Filipino who came to New Zealand to build a better life for his family. He has spent years working in healthcare, caring for the elderly and children with special needs. To his family, he is a loving husband and dad who works hard to provide a happy and secure life.

He was excited to start a new chapter as a Healthcare Assistant with Te Whatu Ora – Health New Zealand in Hastings on August 17, while working towards his dream of becoming a Registered Nurse.

Then, on August 4, everything changed.

While having dinner at home, Eduardo suffered a life-threatening medical emergency. His aortic valve was severely damaged, requiring emergency open-heart surgery in Wellington.

After nine days in hospital, they hoped to finally return home to Hawke’s Bay. Unfortunately, doctors found fluid and blood clots around his heart, requiring another procedure and extending his stay for at least another week. His wife has remained by his side.

This unexpected crisis has placed a huge emotional and financial burden on their family, with hospital expenses, accommodation and everyday costs adding up.
