Thank you all for your generous support. Our plans changed when we found I was getting made redundant and would be expecting another child. But thanks to your help we were able to build a new home in 2020. This is working so much better for Eli and the whole family. He is getting out and about enjoying the neighborhood and having a great time inviting friends over!
So to update, after much consideration Eli's parents came to the conclusion that it was more cost effective and had more long term benefits to Eli for them to sell their current home and build a new home, rather than to renovate. There are extra costs involved with building a new home that is wheelchair accessible, than a home without such requirements.
As a result of this the whole process is much slower and due to more hospital visits over that time, the costs related to Eli's hospital stay increased, and so the family's savings for the build have taken another hit.
So please if you have a little to spare, this would be so helpful to reducing Eli's need for hospital stays and further surgeries, as they sooner they can get him into a wheelchair accessible home the better :-)
Thank you for your generosity
Thank you all so much for your generosity! Every bit is helpful 😊 we will continue to raise funds, as Eli has had another hospital stay due to an infection in his foot, so it's so important that these renovations happen sooner rather than later. 💓
