Help Emmanuel's family with living costs.

Christchurch, Canterbury

*Update* - Sadly, Emmanuel passed away quite unexpectedly on Thursday morning. The situation for Adaeze and the children Ebose and Ziora is still exceedingly difficult and they will greatly appreciate any donations made to this page.

------------------------

As some of you know, Emmanuel Egbadon a PhD student in chemical engineering at the University of Canterbury was diagnosed with acute myeloid leukaemia in 2020. He went through a difficult treatment and was in remission. This allowed him to successfully finish his thesis earlier this year.

While waiting for his temporary work visa to be approved, the leukaemia came back. The doctors managed to get it under control well enough for him to leave the hospital. Unfortunately he spent a week in the hospital with influenza in July.

On a positive note, he and his wife celebrated the birth of their 2nd child Ziora in March. These events have made meeting the day-to-day costs of living very difficult. So if you would like to help, this page has been set up for Emmanuel and his family. Any little bit helps.

Emmanuel was a kind and thoughtful person. I feel privileged to have had the opportunity to know him and supervise him. Taken away too soon. My thoughts are with his family.
