To provide financial assistance to the family while they stay in Auckland to meet the ongoing medical needs of their newborn baby.
Wellington
We are super excited to welcome Bear Oskar Foley Johnson to our family in late October. But as many of you know Corrin, Drew and big brother Arlo got some hard news at the 20 week scan. Bear has a heart condition called Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome (HLHS). The simple explanation is that the left side of his heart is unable to pump the oxygenated blood to the rest of his body. Corrin, Drew and Arlo will be leaving for Auckland in September as Bear will need to be born at Starship Children’s Hospital in October. He will require open heart surgeries at 1 week, 6 months and 3 years old.
This is going to be a very stressful time both emotionally and financially. We want to help both Corrin and Drew to be able to stay in Auckland with Bear, and for Arlo (1 year old) to stay with his mummy, daddy and little brother.
There are going to be many days that Drew won’t be able to work for both emotional and practical reasons. So we are wanting to ease the financial burden for them, whether that is helping with mortgage payments or even shouting them a coffee somewhere outside the hospital.
We would truely appreciate your prayers as they await Bears arrival and prepare to move to Auckland. Thank you so much to our family and friends around the world and our Church families at The Street Church and Crossroads Church for your prayers and messages of support .
