A page to offer support to a deserving man who has given so much to his community.
Hamilton, Waikato
In 2018 Neville Ross (Nev) was diagnosed with a brain tumour out of the blue. Since then he has undergone surgery and chemo treatment in his relentless push to beat the cancer, while continuing to work as a Detective Sergeant with the New Zealand Police, selflessly serving his community, which he has done for over 44 years.
Sadly, Nev has exhausted all conventional Government funded treatment options, but has been offered a last ditch alternative treatment by his oncologist which may extend his life for 12 months. Avastin is used to treat patients with recurrent brain tumours like the kind Nev has, but it is not funded by Pharmac. The treatment will cost Nev’s family $5000 every fortnight.
Nev is a much loved husband, father and grandfather, so any assistance that will help provide him with precious time with his wife and family will be greatly appreciated.
Please give generously to this champion man who has given so much to his community.
I have worked along side Nev for many years, during which time he has been a role model, mentor and friend.
All proceeds raised will go towards treatment (Avastin) to combat Nevs inoperable brain tumour.
Update on treatment 12 May 2022
