Paul and his family deserve our support so that they can take on the challenges he has in front of him.
Wellington
Anyone who knows Paul Chattington or Chatts as he is known, will know he is a man with integrity, with kindness and a big heart. His family are at the core of everything Paul does and they are a very close unit. He is a lovable colleague and friend to many.
Paul has been thrown a curve ball recently with the re-emergence of his kidney cancer.
There are potentially two courses of treatment for Paul, OR he uses his remaining time to enjoy some of his bucket list activities.
The funded treatment involves immunotherapy with Sunitinib which is unsuitable for Paul because of it's blood clot risk & debilitating side effects for him and the other with non-funded drugs Nivolumab & Ipilimumab that are very expensive. These difficult decisions are still to be made by the family but it doesn’t take a rocket scientist to be aware of the financial burden that is now imposed on Paul and his family.
It is very difficult to know how you can help when people you love and care about are facing such tremendous odds. But Paul and his family deserve our support so that they can take on the challenges he has in front of him.
Any koha would be gratefully received and passed onto the family.

If kindness is sown, then kindness you shall receive”

The funds will be used to help with treatment costs OR bucket list activities.
Update on Paul Chattington 28 January 2022
Hello Everyone. The Chattington Whanau are extremely grateful and appreciative for the generous support received to date from their dear families and friends. Paul has been moved from the Hutt Hospital to Fergusson Rest Home in Upper Hutt to be closer to his home and family. Unfortunately that comes with more costs as his needs cannot be catered for at home. There is a daily room fee at the rest home. He also needs an electric wheelchair to help with mobility. We would sincerely appreciate it if you can assist with a koha to help the family through this very difficult part of Paul's journey. Arohanui to you all for your ongoing love and support which means a great deal to Paul, Judith, Simon, Emma, Amy and the grandchildren.
