  • Happy 5th Birthday Sausage!

It has been 2 weeks since Fae ate 9% of her body weight and nearly killed herself. We are all very grateful to have her here with us to move into our new home this weekend.

Fae’s stitches came out on Friday, the incision is healing well, and she’s got 2 more weeks of on lead only walks while everything heals up.

Thank you to everyone who has donated to Fae’s medical misadventure Give A Little Page over the past 2 weeks and helped raise nearly $3000, it has made things significantly less stressful for us. 🐾🐾

....and this silly sausage is healing remarkably well and looks unrecognisable from this time last week.

Fae has finished her antibiotics and pain relief, has her appetite back, is no longer weeing herself, her incision is healing (thank you Canine Healing Hands) and she is moving around 80% like her usual happy, playful self.

Thank you for everyone’s support over the past week and especially to the 53 generous people who have helped raise an outstanding $2,870 to contribute to Fae’s $13k after hours vet bill. After receiving $4,300 from our insurance claim this feels significantly less daunting.

Big hugs from a very grateful Abbie and Fae 🐾🐾

Sausage before I left for work (before the fentanyl kicked in) and when I arrived home from work. What a difference. She is feeling significantly more comfortable, is more mobile, brighter, affectionate, and for a split second when I walked in the door and she wiggled over I forgot all about the events of the last few days! Fingers crossed we keep improving 😌

  • THANK YOU and Update from Abbie

One sausage dog feeling very sorry for themself (but chipper enough to supervise pasta boiling and mushrooms being chopped for human dinners!) She is gingerly waddling around, drinking, eating, and doing little coy rattlesnake tucked tail wags.

I am tearful and overwhelmed at the generosity of everyone who has shared the give a little page, checked in on us, and donated. Fae is my most precious tenacious, mischievous, unwavering, and sensitive tiny terrier and I can’t bear to think of life without my little brindle shadow - the biggest of thank yous from us both. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

P.S. I just heard from my own vet today when collecting Nana greyhound Doris from her dental that had this happened in regular business hours it would have only cost a third as much. Sigh!

Fae was able to go home this evening, what a relief!! She's still as high as a kite but happy to be home. Thank you so much for all the support so far.
