I want to rally around this family at this tragic time to ease the financial pressure of having to replace all of their belongings.
Hawke's Bay
The Buchanan Family reside in Waipawa, Central Hawkes Bay and unfortunately this morning around 7am a fire started in their lounge and has ripped through their home absolutely destroying it.
The sad thing is that they are not insured. With the cost of looking after her disabled husband and two special needs grandsons, insurance was just getting to expansive.
Bruce (husband) is unable to walk unassisted for long and his motorized wheel chair has been destroyed.
One of the children has recently had surgery and is in two plaster legs casts, his wheelchair has also been destroyed.
Jocelyn (mum/grandma) homeschools both children and all of their schooling equipment, books etc is gone.
Not only these things but personal possessions, sentimental items. Jocelyn is an amazing sewer/embroider and everything is gone. All of her materials, machines. Everything. Her glasses have gone. She’s managing to only see out of her prescription sunglasses at the moment.
I cannot imagine the pain this family must be feeling right now and all of this is going to cost money to replace, money that they don’t have and cannot claim due to no insurance.
Thank you for reading.
They are family friends of my mother who was involved in the fire. I want to help take the financial strain off them in this terrible time.
