Help Gaby

2020 was a difficult year for everyone and Gaby was not saved from that, in October Gabriela started to feel unwell from her stomach. Her symptoms included vomiting, nausea, diarrhea and bledding. She visited the GP doctor twice in a week and she was prescribed some antibiotic, but she wasn`t getting any better, in fact she was feeling very tired and with no energy.

We decided to take her to the emergency unit at Tauranga Hospital, but they kept saying it was gastroenteritis. Only after 2 weeks and the third visit to the Hospital, she was hospitalized. At that stage presenting high fever, dehydration, added to the initial symptoms.

After some deeper tests, the doctor diagnosed her with Inflammatory Bulb Disease/ Crohn`s disease.

The first week that she was hospitalized, the treatment plan the doctors had did not work, so a different treatment, with more expensive medications. This second treatment was the one she responded to well. She is today still under this Medicine.

Gaby is 21 years old and has a domestic student visa, which does not cover hospital costs because she is over 18 years old, before she got sick she was working part time and raising money to pay for her nursing studies but as a result of this illness she was left without working for more than a month and due to this he had to use all his savings in the expenses that this situation implies. We have now received the hospital cost, initially $34,312.54 - but she is still undergoing treatment.

She urgently needs to study to be able to continue living in New Zealand while her parents continue to struggle to get the long-awaited residence and this situation stagnates her dream and limits the growth of the family in New Zealand.

Today we need your help please, we can`t afford to pay for figures like this with a simple job, in addition to being able to continue living in this country and to continue with her treatment so expensive and that she still needs to recover completely.
