Support us to help our mokopuna get into a home.
Wairoa, Hawke's Bay
The morning after Cyclone Gabrielle hit Wairoa our mokopuna and their parents woke to water in their home. Their home and their car were surrounded by water. Their father and their mother 7 months pregnant put their children on their shoulders and carried them through a back paddock to the State Highway on the other side leaving with only the clothes on their backs, leaving their whole life behind.
A passerby on an ATV picked them up and took them to the marae where they have now been for nearly 3 weeks.
There is a home for sale right now that is ideal for them to rebuild their lives and to be their forever home.
Please give generously.
Our mokopuna were in a rental property, that will be demolished as a result of the flood. We are unsure if the house was insured or if the owners will ever rebuild again.
I am just one of the many whangai nanny's and whanau supporting our mokopuna to move on from this disaster. Tia is the the mother of these children.
Raising funds to get them their forever home.
