Help get Mitchell to the Special Olympics World Winter Games
Help get Mitchell, a young man with intillectual disabilties, to the Special Olympic World Winter Games in Italy!

MItchell has been selected to represent New Zealand for alpine skiing at the Special Olympics World Winter Games, which will be hosted in Turin (Torino), Italy! These games are in March 2025. With costs in excess of $25,000 for Mitchell to pay, we are going to need some help to make his dream come true. We will be working closely with Special Olympics Auckland to do lots of fundraising for Mitchell - they are a great support.
Mitchell has overcome a lot of adversity in his short life, due to being born extremely premature at 24 weeks gestation. He sadly lost his twin brother, Rupert, shortly after their births. Owing to his early start in life, Mitchell has suffered substantial brain damage. This has lead to many obstacles in his life, which he has cheerfully overcome - with the help of many people and organisations such as Special Olympics NZ.
Mitchell has a passion for sports and has developed a true love and talent in skiing. To represent New Zealand at the Special Olympic World Winter Games is a once in a lifetime opportunity that would bring him real joy and a sense of purpose.

Special Olympics World Winter Games Italy 2025 update 9 May 2025
A belated thank you to all of Mitchells' Givealittle supporters in his quest to raise funds to attend the Special Olympics World Winter Games in Italy in March 2025.
For those of you who haven't already heard MItchell did so well in Italy placing 5th in the Intermediate GIANT SLALOM event.
The really big news is that Mitchell came first and won a GOLD medal in the SLALOM event in awful whiteout conditions on the last day of competition.
We're all so proud and grateful to all of you for supporting him, thank you!
Mum was there and witnessed it all, may have shed a wee tear...........
