Matamata, Waikato

Sarita Kennedy has been an equine veterinary nurse for 15 years, taking great interest in radiography as well as being on the specialist Neonatal foal team. She juggles her career with a successful competitive Equestrian career.

Recently at the NZSCH Nationals Sarita & her main horse FIS Lacoste (Costie) received a golden ticket which means they have qualified to compete at the prestigious Show Horse Council Grand Nationals in Sydney, Australia.

FIS Lacoste is a Grey Warmblood breed by Christine Weal Equestrian. While dressage is their main focus, bringing home multiple championships across the levels, they are also competitive in Saddle Hunter showing.

Achievements to note include:

- 2023 NZSHC National Reserve Champion

- 2022 Waikato A&P Champion P&M

- 2021 National Amateur Reserve Champion Novice Dressage

- 2020 NZ National Newcomer Champion Saddle Hunter

- 2020 Cambridge A&P Novice Saddle Hunter Champion, Open Saddle Hunter Champion & Champion P&M

Sarita is part of 3 dressage groups but is most active on the Dressage Waikato (DW) Committee where she is the Trainer & Development Manager who overseas the DW Training squad. This is a DW initiative to support up & coming dressage riders. She is also a qualified Dressage judge and the DW Area Judges Officer and volunteers at each show she competes at in a wide variety of roles.

To compete at the Show Horse Council Grand Nationals in Sydney would be an amazing opportunity and to qualify has been a true surprise for Sarita!

2% Effective Fee
On average, fundraisers pay just 2% to use Givealittle. This is one of the lowest effective fees in New Zealand fundraising. We charge a 5% platform fee to cover the cost of running the platform. Because most donors choose to top up their donation to cover this fee, the effective cost paid by fundraisers is about 2%. That means around 98 cents of every dollar raised goes to the cause.
