Help Get Toby to Darwin for the Oceania Athletics Championships 2026
Toby is fundraising to be able to head to the Oceania Athletics Championships in Darwin this year to represent NZ in the U18 Hammer Throw.

Toby has been selected to represent New Zealand at the U18 level in the Hammer Throw at the Oceania Athletics Championships in Darwin, 18-23 May 2026. Toby has been working hard on his throwing over the last few years and is really excited to have been given the opportunity to compete at this level. He is hoping this will be a really helpful stepping stone as he works toward other goals, like heading to the US to study on an athletics scholarship.
The cost of this trip is $5,500 (the amount set by Athletics New Zealand) plus airfares to and from Auckland. He's working at finding various ways to earn money to help cover the cost of getting to competitions within New Zealand, but is now looking for help to get the extra funds he needs for this next step. If you are able to contribute any amount (no matter how small) to helping him reach his goal, we'd be super grateful for your support!

Use of funds
The money will go towards covering the cost for the trip, including travel to Darwin, accommodation, meals, uniform, ground transport at the location and other such expenses. Also, there is an extra amount needed for getting him to and from Auckland.

Thank you to everyone that's donated so far! Toby is super grateful for your support for him as he works hard at what he loves doing.
He's just back from a few great days away in Auckland at the NZ Track and Field Championships, coming away with silver in the hammer and 4th in discus. While he was disappointed that the outcome didn't reflect what he knew he was capable of, it's been an invaluable experience in terms of exposure to competition stresses and identifying areas of growth he needs to work on. So much of competition is a mental game!
