To raise funds for Bronny and Grayden while Grayden recovers from major surgery and beating cancer.
Wellington
Dear friends,
We have been encouraged to create this givealittle page for those who are looking to provide financial support to our family while we continue on the long road to Grayden's recovery from cancer. Although we have been blessed with an all-clear on the cancer itself, the severe reduction in our capacity to work that has affected us since his diagnosis in August 2017 is looking set to continue for many months more than anybody expected. As it is, our stay in ICU has blown out from an expected 24 to 48 hours to, at the time of writing, three and a half weeks and counting. Then there is still the time in the ward and rehabilitation. Although the care here has been fantastic, there has been no replacement for family by his side as his mind struggles to make sense of his situation through a cloud of medication and what is, essentially, massive bodily trauma.
On a happier note, we appreciate incredibly the support that we have already been shown throughout this journey. If you haven't already, we would invite you to keep up-to-date with Grayden's recovery by requesting to join our Cookie Updates group on Facebook.
Many thanks,
Bronny Cook
I am a close family and church friend of Bronny and Grayden. We and others have been walking this journey alongside the Cook's since Grayden's diagnosis. The emotional toll is high as is the financial one, as annual and sick leave run out and bills continue needing to be paid. This page has been set up to ease the financial strain on them in this difficult time. To help Grayden focus on getting better and Bronny on being there for her man.
Mother Teresa said: "If you can't do great things do little things with great love" so please, simply give what you can, with all your heart.
All funds raised will be used to support the Cook family while Grayden recovers.
On the move 4 June 2018
May 24th Grayden was transferred out of ICU.
"Grayden is still very weak and unable to walk yet or even swallow properly and the we have been told this will take time.
We so appreciate you keeping us in your prayers and thoughts while we are on this journey. Thank you for the practical and financial support too. We are so blessed to be surrounded by such amazing people who care. May God's richest blessings be on you all."
