NZ Māori female dancer fundraising to fund my trip to Mexico to compete at an international Hip Hop competition “Dancers Paradise”.
Nelson / Tasman
My names Hana Morris, I am a 20 year old New Zealand Māori female wanting to pursue a career in hip hop dance. This year I’ve been lucky enough to be given the opportunity to compete with an Australian dance crew ‘Sole Fam’ at an international competition ‘Dancers Paradise’ in Mexico at the end of May. Sole fam is currently the back to back champs of this competition and is a team I have wanted to be apart of for the last 4 years due to such a high level of training. After auditioning for this team in November 2017 I feel so privileged to be selected. As part of a team of 19 members, funding this trip is unfortunately a huge challenge. I’ve worked super hard the last few months working and saving for this trip, but have found I am just short of covering my expenses. This competition and training will be incredible for my growth as a dancer, and is another vital part of this process and hopefully future career. I am currently in week 2 of training in Australia and I can honestly say I’ve never learnt so much about myself as a dancer so fast, and felt so challenged in such an incredible training environment. Any kind of donation big or small would make all the difference in the world! I have 3 weeks till I jet off and the countdown is on! Thank you so much for your time, I really appreciate any contribution to my dream come true ❤️
Flights, accommodation, competition expenses, costume, living expenses while training in Australia, training fees, US visa, transport. My main goal is the pay the remaining expenses and then give back money to my family whom have helped me get thus far.
