Help Hannah Thomas compete at the World Champs and World Cups over in Europe!

Hello,

My name is Hannah Thomas, I am 19 years old and I'm a full time High Performance Canoe Slalom Athlete, representing New Zealand.

I am raising money in order to travel overseas to compete at the Senior World Cups in Pau (France) and La Seu D'Urgel (Spain) and the Senior World Championships held in Bratislava (Slovakia). My ultimate goal is to win gold at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, to achieve this I want to take every opportunity I can to get on the World Stage and compete. I am a non funded athlete with Canoe Slalom competitors not receiving the same levels of funding as main stream sport counterparts.

Achievements to Date

-Currently U23 Oceania Champion in both Canoe and Kayak

-Currently ranked 2nd in New Zealand in Canoe and Kayak.

-5th Place, Extreme Slalom at the U23 World Championships

In order for my development as an international competitor I need to be competing against the World's best. The competition scene in Europe is open and operating nearly normally (other than a host of Covid protocols to go through). This will be a great opportunity for me and my ultimate plan is to spend up to 3 months in Europe training and competing. If everything goes to plan it will have such a beneficial impact on my paddling career.
