Harlin’s Severe Idiopathic Scoliosis was discovered at a critical stage, and now immediate surgery is her only option.
At just 12 years old, Harlin’s condition is severe, with a double "S" curve in her spine that is worsening every day as she grows. After 9 months in a full-body brace trying to minimise the curve, it’s clear that surgery is now urgent. We’ve explored all options in New Zealand and have exhausted all treatments. Surgeons are urging us to proceed immediately. Without this surgery, Harlin will face limited movement, ongoing complications, and permanent physical limitations.
Harlin needs Anterior Scoliosis Correction (ASC) surgery, an innovative procedure only available in the United States at the Institute for Spine & Scoliosis in New York City. This minimally invasive surgery will correct her spine while preserving flexibility, so she can return to doing what she loves—dancing, sports, and being a kid. Without it, the pain and loss of mobility will only worsen.
The cost of surgery, travel, and recovery is overwhelming, but it’s her only chance. Harlin has always put others before herself, and any support you can offer would mean the world. Time is critical, and every donation brings us closer to giving her a chance at a pain-free, active life.
We are truly grateful for your kindness and support.

Harlin's Scoliosis Journey – A Quick Update!!
We want to take a moment to thank everyone who has shown love and support for Harlin on her scoliosis journey. Your encouragement and generous donations mean the world to us.
We remain fully committed to doing whatever it takes to get Harlin to the United States for her ASC (Anterior Scoliosis Correction) surgery. This life-changing procedure is a crucial step in protecting her future and allowing her to keep doing what she loves most — dancing.
Harlin has an incredible passion and commitment to hip hop dance. It’s a huge part of who she is and it’s also been a major source of strength during her scoliosis journey. Doctors believe her flexibility and fitness from dancing have helped ease some of the pain and her determination inspires us every day.
We are doing all of this — the fundraising, the planning, the relentless efforts — for Harlin’s future, her health and her dreams. As parents, we want nothing more than to see her continue chasing her passion and living a life free from the limits this condition can bring.
Our goal is to have the surgery underway at the start of next year, but with your ongoing love and support, we are hopeful it could happen even sooner.
Thank you again to our local communities and everyone who has stood beside us. Every bit of support brings us one step closer.
With love and gratitude,
Brooke & Family
