Help Hayley Get Jaw Joint Replacement Surgery

    Well I am now several days post op, what a journey this week has been! I was in theatre for 8 hours and spent a further 2 in recovery before I was moved back to the ward.

    I have very restricted movement in my jaw at the moment and can barley get a teaspoon in my mouth.

    I start physiotherapy this week (a cost we didn't account for) and will need a bit more time off work than we first imagined too.

    Just waiting for accounts to come through but I don't think we will quite be able to cover everything!

  • Two Days To Go

    Hey everyone!

    Wow, what a huge ride the last year has been! I cannot believe we are only two sleeps away from surgery!

    We haven't quite reached our target yet but I want to thank each and every one of you for all your support in helping us get to where we are. This wouldn't be happening without all your support!

    Today I had my pre surgery head shave! Wow what a different look but I'm not hating it!

  • 5 weeks to go

    💫 5 WEEKS TO GO 💫

    I am on such a roller coaster at the moment. My thoughts and emotions are all over the show.

    Two weeks today since I had to shift to a liquid diet, it's hard! Really really hard. Really low energy because I'm not getting enough calories in each day no matter what I try. Which in turn is not helping the mood and the emotions.... sorry family!

    I sent off an email to my surgeons rooms last week and his wonderful assistant called me saying it would have taken an hour to answer all my questions via email! She was posting my admission paperwork too which should arrive any day now and make it even more real.

    I just want to take this time again and thank every single person that has helped us in one way or another the last nearly 11 months. It's been a really eye opening time for myself and Jamie and we are so grateful and humble.

    The Good, The Bad and The Ugly!

    Today we have reached a whole new level of pain, both sides of my jaw are bad, but the left side is slightly worse and boy am I feeling it today.

    I am now on a full liquid diet to try and releive some pressure on my jaw.

    The pain makes it feel like I have an earache and eye ache. The whole side of my face is in excruciating pain. No panadol, ibuprofen or codine have even touched it today.

    I'm so pleased we are only 6 weeks out from surgery tomorrow, because each day it's getting harder to live with this pain.

    I like sharing my journey with you all, but it also means each year it will appear in my memories and show me how far I have come. I cannot wait till I can look back on all of this and it be a distant memory!

    Bring on June 13th!!!
