WE MADE IT!!! So many weeks. Outside on a lead Every Single Time. But here he is. 5 months post op. The $6,000 dog. "Better, stronger, faster". Singing his heart out. Thank you all so very much. We could not have done this without you.

So yesterday we had his post op x-ray to ensure it is healing OK. It is. Massive relief, but still a long way to go. Only allowed outside on a lead for another couple of months and still short walks 2 or 3 times a day on the lead. It's a huge process but we are so incredibly grateful to you all. It's amazing seeing him stand on all fours without his bad leg, behind. Thank you all so very much.

So we made it through the first 14 days of what will ultimately be 3 months recovery. We can finally stop monitoring him 24/7 to stop him licking. That means off the lounge floor and back in our bedroom 🥰 His wound has healed really well and he is starting to place some weight on is leg. Next up 6 week x-ray. Totally thrilled with his healing journey so far. Thank you so much 🙏 ps the bare patch in the pic was for the fentanyl patch

Funds came through last night. Amazing timing. Thank you so much to all. He is hating his crate and got his cone off in minutes, but we're getting there. We're on the other side and it can only be up from here. (Slowly). We are so grateful to you all. ❤️

  • Just a few days away now

      14 February 2025

So, Hooch is just days away from the Big Op. We have purchased a crate for him to stay in afterwards so that he doesn't walk around. We also bought an orthopaedic mattress and lot of bone broth, green lip mussel extract with glucosamine and chondroitin. It is very daunting what we have to go through for the next few weeks but we are buoyed by the support we have received. Thank you all so much.

Such exciting news and it's very understandable you're feeling a bit overwhelmed for the next few weeks. Luckily time goes by so quickly he'll be bouncing around again before you know it! Looking forward to the next update ❤️

  • The journey from here

      5 February 2025

Thank you all you amazing people, you have filled our hearts! And the very generous donation received after we reached our target for his post-operative care - wow! You are all phenomenal. Hooch is booked in for his surgery on 20th Feb. Then it's home for a month or more 'in a crate' which will be our small bedroom floor with the bed sectioned off! It's going to be a long recovery process. No off-lead activities for 4 months but then he could be back as good as ever. Will try to keep him him entertained with daily tunes ;-)

Wooo Hooooch!! We hit the target, thank you to everyone who has helped Hooch surf on into the future. We are incredibly grateful and deeply moved by your kindness and generosity. He had his x-rays today (this is him hanging out the window on his way home). His big op is scheduled for 20th Feb. We'll keep you updated. Thank you so much.
