Help Ilya fundraise for a double mastectomy overseas

I have been trying to get on the waitlist for publicly funded top surgery for over 3 years in Pōneke via the CCDHB. Despite multiple referrals, frustratingly services have been denied due to a "temporary capacity issue" which at this time has not been resolved.
Privately funded top surgery in Aotearoa is often as much as $25,000 which is, unfortunately, not feasible for me in the foreseeable future.
Because of the inaccessibility of gender-affirming surgery here, and the emotional and chronic physical stress that gender dysphoria and binding on a daily basis have taken on me, I've decided to seek surgery overseas. I've already done an online consultation with a hospital in Bangkok and have been advised that I'll need a double mastectomy costing approximately $10,000 NZD.
I'm hoping to save for the flight, accommodation, living and recovery costs myself but I do need help with the medical costs. While 10k is a big target, anything you can give will help me get there and will be so appreciated! ♡♥︎♡
Use of funds
The money raised will go towards the cost of the $10,000 surgery costs.
If I don't reach the full amount of the target I've set on this page, the funds will be going towards top surgery costs regardless.

Surgery Tomorrow! 26 March 2024
Tomorrow is finally the big day! I just wanted to say a final massive thank you to all the generous people here who have helped me achieve this goal that previously at times had felt impossible.
I am so incredibly excited for this next part of my life and can’t believe the generosity and care that so many of you have extended to me. It was difficult to ask for help but I'm so glad I did.
It’s been a long, hard road to get here and I can only hope that public trans health care drastically improves in Aotearoa so that everyone in the community has access to what I have been lucky enough to experience <3
