Raising money to buy portable oxygen generators for my colleague Aamir Faiz who is on the ground in India as people die around him.

Update 23 May: We've bought 2 machines and have access to more if we have the funds!

I am heart broken about the oxygen crisis due to Covid-19 in India, so I have reached out to my web developer in Bhopal India, to ask what we can do. Did you know there are 75 people waiting for every 1 hospital bed? People are dying outside hospitals and many don't even try to go because they can't afford it even if there was space.

I asked my colleague Aamir if he had the money could he get portable oxygen machines and he has found 2 contacts to get them.

They cost between NZ$1000-$2000 each and pump oxygen 24/7 and more than 1 person can be using it at a time. We have so far raised enough for 2 machines, but the goal is to buy 10.

If he has enough funds he will set up a small clinic to help literally saves lives in his community.

Use of funds

We will buy oxygen generators with the funds. If there is enough we will rent premises to open an emergency clinic in Bhopal, India.

Our fundraising campaign has now closed and we raised enough money to buy 3 oxygen concentrators for India. That served the needs of the community we were working with and with the few dollars left over, Aamir has put together essential food parcels. We can't thank you enough for your generosity - Megan
