Help Izzy get the surgery she desperately needs to be pain free!

Izzy is only 7 years old and needs surgery to remove the plate in her right hind leg from her TPLO surgery she had when she was 2 years old. After recent xrays showing 2 screws are migrating and the plate is lifting off the bone it needs to come out asap!

However, we have attempted surgery twice but unfortunately she keeps going into Ventricular tachycardia (V-tach). The 1st attempt resulted in a trip to a specialist for an ongoing ecg and an echocardiogram which resulted in a possible very early diagnosis of Dilated cardiomyopathy (DCM). After being given medication for her heart and waiting 3 weeks before attempting surgery again she went into V-tach again while only have half the amount of sedation medication (they weren't able to put her under general anaesthetic).

Due to this outcome she is going to have to be referred to a specialist cardiologist. There is only one in Auckland and it's a 6 month wait, which she can not wait that long. There is one in Palmerston North with a 6 week wait, so my vet will be referring her to them.

But that unfortunately comes with added costs of petrol, accommodation and more vet bills at a specialist price. We have insurance but it's unfortunately not enough, and due to her age I can't up the amount she's covered for.

I know times are tough but no matter the amount each and every dollar will be greatly appreciated.
