Help Jack get home to Mum

  • Rangiora/Christchurch Update!

      17 January 2021

Sally with support from her friend Bobby, travelled down to Christchurch on the 8th January.

From there, she met with with some of Jack's teachers, his principle and friends, where they shared stories and memories of Jack.

Parents of Jack's friend Neo, have also organised a memorial ride for Jack, through South Coast Riders SMC.

She visited some of Jack's favorite places, such as the local skate park and Waimakariri river, where she left a beautiful memorial message.

She then went to collect Jack's ashes from Lamb and Hayward, where she met with Heather, who cared for Jack and provided a beautiful service and send off.

Sally left Christchurch on Saturday 16th January, leaving with Jack's ashes and some of his belongings.

On behalf of Sally, I would like to thank Bobby for her ongoing support, all of Jack's friends, the families of friends, teachers, his principle, Heather and the team at Lamb and Haywards, South Coast Riders SMC, family, friends, and all the loving and caring people that has shown their support over this hard time.

The loving stories and memories about Jack, shared by so many, is touching to Sally and all the family and friends. Jack is well missed and still loved!

The next part of the journey for Sally, will be spending time with family and friends in NZ, before heading home to Australia, scheduled for early Feb.

    Aroha nui,

    James

  • Update on the situation and recent events

      5 January 2021

    Hey everyone,

Sally and Nova flew in to NZ on the 19th of December, they then went to a managed isolation facility, Jetpark, Hamilton, where they carried out 14 days managed isolation. From there, Sally and Nova were released at 6.30pm, Saturday 2nd Jan, and are now with friends and whanau.

Nova will be staying with Nana, while Sally and a support person fly down to Christchurch on Friday, to go and collect Jack's ashes, sort through Jack's belongings and korero with some of Jack's friends and school teachers.

Sally would like to thank every one for their ongoing love and support, and most recently, all the staff at the managed isolation facility, that supported her and Nova during their stay and over Christmas and New Years.

Side note: I conducted an 80km run on 26th Dec. This was by far the longest run I have ever done in a day, and was challenging to say the least. I do still owe another 20km run that will be done in the next two weeks. Thanks again for everyone that supported me and checked on my well being during and after. Very much appreciated.

Once again, thank you all, much love!

    James

  • Flights to NZ

      4 December 2020

    Hey everyone,

    Quick update on the situation:

Sally, Toby and Nova now have flights booked to come back to NZ on December 19th, and they have confirmed places in managed isolation.

Once they are back, they will be in managed isolation for at least 14 days. They will be spending Christmas in managed isolation, but they will have each other, and plenty of phone calls from friends and whanau.

Sally is still unsure where they will be isolated, and unsure of exact dates they will be finished isolation, but will look at travelling to Christchurch once they have been released.

Once again, thank you all for your love and support.
