Help Jack Ride for New Zealand at the Tour de L’Abitibi

$4,570 of $4,500 goal
Given by 33 generous donors in 12 days

Supporting young Kiwi road cyclist Jack Gorrie to represent New Zealand at one of the world’s premier junior cycling stage races in Canada.

Methven, Canterbury

Hi, I'm Jack Gorrie, a 16-year-old road cyclist from Mid Canterbury. I have recently been selected to represent New Zealand at the Tour de L'Abitibi in Canada from 14–19 July 2026.

I am excited to race as part of our New Zealand team against more than 170 riders from across the globe. This six day stage race is one of the world's most prestigious junior cycling tours and has been a launching pad for many professional cyclists.

Over the past year, on both the local club scene, regionally and throughout NZ, I have been fortunate to achieve some strong results while racing including:

+ 2nd at the New Zealand Senior Men's Age Group National Championships

+ 10th in the U19 Elite Men's Road Race at the National Championships in Cambridge

+ 1st Tasman Classic Senior Mens Road Race Nelson

I am reaching out for support, with the total cost of travelling to Canada and competing at the Tour is approximately $10,000, covering flights, accommodation, and team costs. As a Year 12 student from Mount Hutt College, this is a significant financial commitment for me and my family.

Every contribution, no matter how big or small, will help me take the next step. Your support will not only help me get to Canada but will also allow me to proudly represent New Zealand on the international stage.

Thank you for taking the time to read my story and for considering supporting my campaign. I am incredibly grateful for every donation, message of encouragement, and share.

Use of funds

Funds raised will go directly toward international flights, accommodation, race travel, team costs, and associated expenses required for Jack to compete at the Tour de L’Abitibi in Canada. With current international affairs, costs have risen considerably.

2% Effective Fee
On average, fundraisers pay just 2% to use Givealittle. This is one of the lowest effective fees in New Zealand fundraising. We charge a 5% platform fee to cover the cost of running the platform. Because most donors choose to top up their donation to cover this fee, the effective cost paid by fundraisers is about 2%. That means around 98 cents of every dollar raised goes to the cause.
