Help Jackie (Blak) on her Cancer Recovery Journey

Our beautiful sister Jackie was unexpectedly diagnosed with a rare hereditary stomach cancer in September 2025. This diagnosis has reopened an old wound for our family, as we lost our beloved mother to the very same cancer when we were young. The fear of re-living that devastating loss weighs heavily on our hearts and we pray every day that our family does not endure the heartbreak again.

The past four months, Jackie has undergone multiple surgeries and treatments in Whangārei and Auckland. On 14 January, she underwent her fifth and most significant surgery at Auckland North Shore Hospital, a full gastrectomy- where her stomach and part of her intestines were removed.

Once she is recovered and is stable following surgery, she will begin chemotherapy.

My sister has been quietly fighting the hardest battle of her life in silence, never asked for anything, never complained, and never wanted to burden anyone —Just fighting in the background every day so she can come home to her children and husband. She is one of the kindest, most caring people you could ever meet, always thinking of others first and bringing warmth and light wherever she goes.

She has two beautiful daughters, aged 11 and 4, who love and need their mummy more than anything in this world. Jackie faces a long road to recovery, with ongoing treatments in Whangarei and Auckland, as well as rehabilitation and healing time ahead. 💛
