Fundraising for non-funded Partial Knee Replacement surgery
Taranaki
Jay is a domestic violence survivor and is now battling stage 4 osteoarthritis in her right knee for the past 9 years. This condition causes daily pain and severely limits her mobility.
Jay once loved walking, hiking, biking, and exploring. Now, osteoarthritis has caused a rapid decline in her ability to walk properly and pain free.
With her disability status, her limited mobility and chronic pain prevent her from working, leaving her unable to finance her medical care. The cost of her knee surgery and aftercare is not covered by the New Zealand health system nor by ACC. And numerous attempts have been made in the attempt to get the funding, and to be denied at every corner.
Jay now has no other options left, other than to ask the community for assistance.
Jay follows a strict pain management plan, but her daily life remains filled with pain and limitations. Even a walk to the bathroom can be an ordeal.
However, Jay has found a compassionate surgeon willing to perform the partial knee replacement at a cost. This surgery could transform her life, enabling her to walk with much less pain and regain her independence and mobility once again.
With your support, Jay can reclaim her life and walk without constant pain. Your kindness can be the beacon of hope she desperately needs.
On behalf of Jay and myself, we extend our heartfelt thanks for your support.
Every little bit helps and will make a significant difference in Jay’s life.
I have been a long-time friend of Jay's for over 21years, and have stood by her side with many difficult life situations.
Any funds, even if not the full amount, will help cover the costs of the partial knee replacement, transportation to and from appointments, follow-up care, additional medical costs and assistance during recovery. Any extra will go towards a reliable car.
