Help Jemma Perform in NYC!!

Hi there! My name is Jemma and I’m 22 years old. I’m so grateful to have been accepted to the New York Conservatory of Dramatic Arts’ summer intensive for musical theatre in July!

I grew up as a singer/dancer/actor and have honed my teaching and choreographic skills through adulthood and teen years. I love performing on stage and it has been a lifelong dream to study and perform in New York.

I work as a nanny when I’m not busy performing, and I’m incredibly passionate about sharing creative arts with children and young adults. I was two years into my degree in primary teaching but my father passed unexpectedly when I was 19, I honoured my grief by pursuing my creative passions and taking a break from my studies. Performing is my outlet and helped me process a lot of my emotions after my father’s death. I would love to return to teaching at some point in the future but for now, my joy lies in the arts. I would give anything for my dad to watch me perform one more time.

I auditioned for this course very last minute so that I wouldn’t talk myself out of it; I never dreamed that I would be accepted, let alone receive a scholarship! Tuition and flights are still very expensive and I would be incredibly grateful for any help to achieve this goal.
