A latin american family need support to keep strong for his dad recovery.
Auckland
I am Jonathan, originally from Colombia, and I have a beautiful family—my wife and 3 children of 17, 16 and 5 years.
On September 15, I underwent surgery to remove a high-grade brain glioma. Then, I was diagnosed with a highly invasive cancer.
My life has changed completely. I must now prepare to begin radiation therapy and chemotherapy to fight this illness.
The doctors have informed us that my life expectancy may be approximately 14 months. Receiving such news is life-altering; however, we have chosen to hold on to faith, hope, and the love that keeps us strong each day.
We know the road ahead will be difficult, but we intend to face it with courage, cherish every moment together, and fight with all our might. Although we do not know what the future holds, we remain hopeful and determined to keep moving forward, living each day with love, gratitude, and strength.
I have been unable to work for over a month, and I am currently waiting for my income protection insurance, which will coverage only 75% of my salary. This means our income has already decreased, directly impacting our ability to cover basic expenses.
My wife will have to stop working to accompany me during my treatment, support me through the most challenging moments, and assist with my recovery.
This creates an additional financial burden for our family—at a time when we most need stability and peace of mind to focus on my health.
