Help Jumba and his recovery

  • Update on jumba

      25 June 2026

    Hi all

    Small update on jumba

He has started acupuncture to help regain his nerve function, he has also started new medication and had a increase in dosage of his current medication he’s currently managed to urinate on his own two times but he is still struggling

He may need to be manually expressed for his whole life we unfortunately just don’t know yet but we are hoping that he continues to improve and this isn’t needed, we are still doing daily vet visits twice a day and it has proven to be a lot but it is all worth it in the end, he is still happy trying to play and talk a lot we are very proud of him

Thank you for the ongoing support 🩷

Thank you everyone for continuing to support jumba you are amazing humans and deserve the world

He has just had his stitches in his belly removed

He is going in the litter a decent amount but still not peeing to the extent he needs to be

We are still going to the vet twice a day and he is still on a lot of medication

He’s proving to be the strongest wee man and we are so happy he is recovering

    Thank you all so much

Jumba has officially urinated on his own!

He will still need his daily vet visits, as he's not quite able to empty his bladder completely by himself yet, but this is a huge step forward in his recovery.

Thank you all so much for your ongoing support during this time. Jumba genuinely wouldn't be here without the kindness and generosity of everyone who has helped, along with the incredible team at the Animal & Bird Hospital.

We are so grateful for every donation, share, message, and well wish. ❤️

    Hey all

    Jumba is doing much better!

He is still going back to the vet every morning and night as he is still not urinating on his own yet

We are trialing another medication ontop of what he’s on in hopes he can regain the nerve function better

The vet seems to be our second home right now but they have been extremely lovely and patient with his recovery as it will be a while before he is fully recovered

Thank you again for all of the support 🩷🩷

    Hi all

Jumba is back at the vet

He managed to take his cone off and rip his stitches sometime between 1am-4am

I had been waking to check on him but unfortunately slept 4 hours instead of 2 so he had the extra time to do so

He is a strong boy and is still doing so well

And despite having opened his stitches he was still extremely happy on the ride to the vet he’s shocking everyone with how well he is recovering but he isn’t giving up and he is continuing to heal

    Jumba is finally home 🩶

He is now home with daily vet visits, morning and night, to have his bladder expressed. He’s on quite a lot of medication and feeling very drowsy, but despite everything he is still acting like his usual sweet self.

He’s eating and drinking well and getting so many cuddles now that he’s back where he belongs.

Jumba still has a long road ahead of him, but so far things are going well, and we’re hoping his recovery continues in the right direction.

Thank you all so much for your ongoing support, kindness, donations, and love for Jumba. We truly couldn’t be more grateful 🐾🩶
