Help keep Northlands oldest theatre thriving!

The Whangārei Repertory Society Inc. is Northland's longest running(and oldest) theatre company who resides in the Octagon Theatre, Whangārei's first purpose built theatre. All pf which is nestled behind a historic 100+ year old Kauri villa.

With all this history, it is no easy task to keep all the buildings maintained. And improvements and restorations can be extremely costly as a non-for-profit charity. That's why we are asking you for your help to keep Northland's performing heritage alive.

With your donation, big or small, you will be helping current restoration projects of the old kauri villa, contributing to new and improved theatre magic tricks, and the regular maintenance and protection of our old heritage buildings.

What Do We Do?

Eavery year, we put on four different major productions each running over a three week period and are accompanied by an optional three course meal in our historic villa. we also strive to bring in upcoming youth into our major productions as performers or crew, utilising the Octagon as a launching pad into the wider theatrical community and careers in the arts. We also bring in a local non-for-profit charity relevant to each production to raise funds for in conjunction.

Between our major events, we strive to bring in new acts and audiences as a venue for hire for tours, festivals, local small events and other events by our repertory society.
