I am reaching out because we have hit a major roadblock, and I honestly don't know where else to turn.

​Meet Lara Rollaskate—our trusty, hard-working little car. She isn't fancy, but she is an absolute lifeline for our family. Living out in Motueka while I commute to work in Richmond means we completely depend on her to get the job done every single day.

​As a one-income household, every single dollar we earn goes straight toward keeping our heads above water, covering our mortgage, groceries, and essential weekly bills. There is nothing left over for emergencies.

​Unfortunately, Work and Income (WINZ) can’t assist because my income sits just over their threshold, leaving us stuck right in the hardest gap: earning too much to qualify for support, but making far too little to absorb a sudden, massive expense.

​Lara has failed her WOF, and without her, making that daily commute is nearly impossible. Without work, we can't pay the bills. We rely on her every single day to keep our family afloat.
