Help a Fijian family in Taranaki stay together as immigration rules threaten to separate their 6-year-old daughter with developmental delay
New Plymouth, Taranaki
We are a Fijian family living and working in New Plymouth. Our daughters, aged 6 and 7, proudly call New Zealand home. Our youngest, Diana, has been diagnosed with Global Developmental Delay and was assessed as not meeting immigration health standards. This could force us to be separated or leave the country.
Our goal is to raise $15,000 NZD to cover legal advice, visa application fees, medical assessments for Diana, and support to ensure our family can stay together locally. Every donation, no matter the size, helps give our daughters the stability and home they deserve.
Please help us stay united.
— Vincel Pickering
We need funds for legal advice, visa and health costs for our 6-year-old with developmental delay, to keep our family together. Any support will help our family stay stable, even if we don’t reach the full goal.
Grateful for Your Support – An Update on Our Journey 25 February 2026
Kia ora everyone,
We wanted to take a moment to sincerely thank each and every one of you who has donated, shared, and supported Diana’s Givealittle page. Your kindness, prayers, and encouragement mean more to us than words can express.
This journey has not been easy, but your support reminds us that we are not walking it alone.
Diana continues to thrive at school and remains her bright, loving self. She is surrounded by friends, teachers, and a community who care deeply for her. Our greatest hope is to keep our family together and give her the stability and security every child deserves.
We are still navigating the immigration process and exploring every possible pathway available to us. While there are challenges, we remain hopeful and determined.
If you’re able to continue sharing Diana’s page with your networks, it would mean so much to our family. Every share, message, and donation truly makes a difference.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for standing with us.
With gratitude,
Vincel & family 💛
