Help Keep the Otira Gorge EV Charger Running

Help us provide economical EV Charging services on the West Coast, and

encourage visitors to stop and spend more time in the National Park.

A very special EV Charger exists at Otira Gorge, at the western base of the Arthurs Pass.

The Charger is located in the middle of the National Park and has significant value to the EV Community NZ wide and the local community.

The Charger boasts a compostable toilet a urinal and a sink for washing your hands.

There are plans to build a small hut with tea and coffee facilities and provide a water supply

The perimeter of the EV Charging Station was planted out with over 200 Native Plants that are thriving 2 years later.

This Charger was co-funded by EECA who invested money with the private owner and significant project management.

The location of the Charger (the middle of nowhere) is considered a ‘Destination Charger’ and is particularly convenient for those vehicles with a shorter range.
