Surgery
20 May 2023Hi guys, thank you all soo much. Our little Kenzie has had her operation, we could not put it off any longer as the growth was starting to block off her nasel passage, making breathing a little bit more difficult. All went extremely well and the specialist was excellent, I cannot rate the staff and level of care at VSA high enough, from the moment we walked in the door they have been brilliant. Kenzie has made a lot of new friends there and all the nurses loved Kenzie cuddles. We have had a few set backs after surgery, Kenzie had to go back and get her feeding tube put back in as she’s not wanting to eat on her own just yet. Can’t blame her since she’s had quite a bit of change in her mouth. They removed part of her top jaw on one side and it will take her some time to adjust to eating slightly differently. All the staff that have been involved in Kenzies case have marvelled at how well she’s doing, she has not once growled, snapped or objected in any way despite how much pain she’s been in and been poked and prodded continuously. Rest and recovery is her plan at the moment and feed tubing continues at home until she decides she’s over that and would rather feed herself. Once again, thank you all so much for your donations and well wishes. It’s been a heck of a journey so far and our wee girl has been amazing.
“It’s not the size of the dog in the fight... but the amount of fight in the dog” and this girl is proof of that.
