It has been a nearly a year now since we set out on this journey with Kerry and Matty, while we've made significant progress, we still have ground to cover in reaching our goal.

The latest update on Kerry's treatment shows promising signs with her medications, but she continues to face challenges with her health, including weight loss and gastrointestinal issues. Presently she is receiving intravenous fluids regularly and this week she is prepping for a Colonoscopy and Endoscopy.Let's keep her in our thoughts as she undergoes further tests and treatments.

As for Matty, he's encountered setbacks with his prostate chemo pills, requiring adjustments in dosage and increased costs. Additionally, the discovery of his thyroid issue , his thyroid is growing into his oesophagus ,which adds another layer of complexity to his treatment plan. Your continued support is invaluable as they navigate these hurdles.

Please spread the word about our Give a little page far and wide. Share updates on social media, reach out to friends, family, and colleagues, and let them know how they can join us in making a difference. Together, we can provide Kerry and Matty with the support and resources they need to continue fighting their battles with courage and determination. Thank you for being a beacon of hope in their lives.

As I write this today its tinged with mixed emotions, Kerry is having an unusually down day, throughout her time dealing with her Cancer diagnosis she has been very positive and upbeat. Today things are different it’s all a bit much. I can't even imagine what its like, but I do know how your support has lifted them.

However we have had good news, Kerry and Matty recent CT scans came back with positive results. Kerry’s showed that the tumours on her kidneys had shrunk by 1 cm, spots on her Liver had also decreased and the lesions on her lungs had all but vanished. The three weekly intravenous Kertruda treatments and new oral medications are showing promising signs. But her digestion is suffering and she is experiencing bouts of “grumbly tummies” and weight loss.

Matty too had a good scan. The Chemo he had endured earlier this year seems to have stabilised his cancer and the specialist was very pleased with his results. With his immunity low though he has battled shingles and now has double vision in his eye and until recently been wearing an eye patch.

Thank you to you all for your incredible support through all of this, with so many specialist appointments , travelling to Thames and Hamilton the cost of fuel etc without you all this journey would have been a whole different story. Their drugs alone have amounted to over $220,000 so far.

So thank you to each and every one of you who have given donations , support and your time for Matty and Kerry it is so appreciated.

In the midst of the chaotic world we navigate today, it's all too easy to lose sight of the fundamental elements that define us: our lives and the relationships we hold dear. In these times, our reliance on our friends and family deepens more than ever before. Amidst these challenges, you, as the cherished friends of Matty and Kerry, have emerged as a profound source of upliftment. Your unwavering emotional support and the substantial contribution you've made have truly transformed their journey.

As Kerry perseveres through her IV treatments of Keytruda every three weeks and prepares to acquire her vital cancer medications worth a substantial $4,000, she finds herself additionally grappling with a debilitating cold that has robbed her of her voice. Meanwhile, Matty has also fallen prey to the grasp of winter's chill, battling Glue Ear and near-complete deafness. This has resulted in an unusually quiet ambiance at the Matichs' residence, where communication between Kerry and Matty now takes the form of text messages.

Your generosity has lightened their burdens, and your companionship has provided solace during these trying times. As Kerry fights her battles and Matty contends with his own challenges, the constancy of your support resonates deeply, a testament to the power of genuine friendship , the constancy of your friendship is a true blessing, reminding us all of the enduring strength found in unity.

With gratitude and hope for the days to come

    Lyn, Kerry and Matty

Well folks, time for an update on this gorgeous couple.

Matty is feeling relieved and grateful after finishing his last Chemo treatment on Thursday. All and all he has handled it quite well although this last one has knocked him for a six. Just waiting on a CT scan in a couple of months to see if it's working. Thank goodness for the Bledisloe Cup and the Football World Cup to make those times when he feels like he has been hit by a bus more bearable!

Kerry is coping well with the new expensive drug she is on ,her specialist was very happy with her latest CT scan, he saw a marked improvements on her last one , long may that continue. On her trips to Hamilton every three weeks ,sometimes more sometimes solo if Matty isn't up to it, she relies on Elvis music to keep her going.

Matty and Kerry will be forever grateful for the continuing love and support from all of their incredible friends ( that's all of you )for their love and support both on this page and beyond.

Just a big thank you to everyone who has given so far , Matty and Kerry are doing well , Matty is coming to the tail end of his Chemo treatments and coping very well apart from the inevitable hair loss . Kerry is loving being retired and has even started gardening again .

The down side is the thousands of kms they clock up travelling to Thames and Hamilton for treatments and with the cost of fuel nowadays it’s a burden that your donations have lightened ., as well as the treatment costs .Thanks again and please share as much as you can we are almost halfway !!!
