We (Levi and Emily) are fundraising to represent NZL in the Poomsae World Championships (South Korea, September 2026)
Christchurch, Canterbury
We (Levi and Emily) are fundraising to compete at the World Poomsae Championships held in Chuncheon, South Korea this September. We have been selected to represent Aotearoa New Zealand in the U30 Male, U30 Pair, and O17F Freestyle events.
We have had strong results at national and regional tournaments over the past two years. This competition season has been a big step forward for us, including competing and medalling in the Australian Open and Oceania Championships in June. The opportunity to represent Aotearoa NZ at the home of the sport we love means the world to us.
Travel, accommodation, uniforms, and competition fees add up quickly. We are University students with multiple part-time jobs, which we have successfully juggled while training and travelling for selection for international competition. We know you are excited for us, and some of you have asked how you can help.
You may be familiar with the "got your back" styled fundraiser. We would love to put your names/messages on the back of our shirts. This competition is completely self-funded, and we've each paid for our flights. For transparency, we're expecting the following costs associated with being in Team NZ (each): Dobok & NZ belt $160, NZ Team training shirt and tracksuit $200, Tournament entry fees $500, Accommodation $500.
Thank you for your ongoing support. We promise to share updates (only 6 weeks until we are there!).
This will help contribute to
- flight costs
- uniforms
- accomodation
- event entry costs
