Help Liam Get to Outward Bound!

Hey, I’m Liam I’m 17, I live in Nelson, and I love the outdoors. Like, really love it. Give me a muddy trail, a paddle, or a snowy slope over a classroom any day.

Next year, I’m hoping to start the Adventure Tourism course at Nelson Polytech so I can follow my dream: becoming a sea kayak guide in summer and a snowboard instructor in winter.

Things haven’t always been easy for me. I have ADHD and autism, which means I sometimes miss social cues, and organisation isn’t exactly my superpower… unless we’re organising tramping gear – then I’m surprisingly on to it.

But when I’m in nature? Everything just clicks. I can be myself, focus, and thrive.

That’s why I would like to apply for the Outward Bound program. I know it’ll push me, help build my confidence in group settings, and teach me the kind of independence and skills that’ll prepare me for my future adventures.

Here’s the deal: Outward Bound is amazing, but it’s also very expensive. I’m asking for your help to get there. Any support you can give – big or small – will go directly toward making this opportunity happen.
