Lilith Update – May 2026

It’s been over 7 months since our last update, so I wanted to share where Lilith’s at now.
Her most recent CT scan came back with mostly positive results, which we’re so grateful for. She has another scan next week, with results due mid-June. This time we’re mainly looking at the node in Lilith’s lungs and double-checking one specific node that was questioned during her last scan.
In the meantime, life has started to feel a bit more normal. Lilith is back at pre-school and will be starting dance classes soon. Her hair has grown so fast — and yes, she’s still got those beautiful curls!
She’s grown so much in height and in confidence. I’m still in awe of the difference between the wee 2-year-old who wiped my tears in the emergency room, and the nearly school-aged girl we see today — ready to take on the world.
Ringing the bell:
During this time, Lilith got to ring the bell, symbolizing the end of her treatment. The poem she read was:
This was a moment I wasn’t sure Lilith would get to enjoy, so helping her reach the bell as she rang it three times loudly is something I’ll never forget. There wasn’t a dry eye on the ward.
We’re heading over to Australia just before her results come in. It’ll be a much-needed chance to make some happy memories together as a family while we wait.
