Help Linda McCarthy Studio Stay Open

INTRODUCTION

Linda McCarthy Studio, A Vintage Fashion House has become a much loved vintage fashion shop in the heart of Ponsonby in Auckland, New Zealand. It's unique style with vintage and reproduction clothing on offer is the only one of it's kind on Ponsonby road. It has gained recognition in the community and has established a regular customer base. Her shop front window displays are always creative, fun, invigorating and inviting.

Linda McCarthy Studio offers 1920's thru 1990's original vintage clothing for women and men. Linda has a passion of vintage clothing and is doing her part in keeping garments out of landfills. You'll find reproduction vintage and vintage style clothing for vintage enthusiast with brands such as: It's So You!, Banned Apparel, Retrospec'd and What Katie Did. They are the exclusive stockist of Charlie Stone Shoes and Freddie's of Pinewood in New Zealand. Accessories are also available; vintage jewellery, scarfs, purses, etc. Linda McCarthy Studio also offers custom made clothing and is a costume designer for the New Zealand entertainment industry.

REASON FOR FUNDING

LMS has experienced 2 Auckland lockdowns since the onset of the pandemic in New Zealand. Recovery after the 1st lockdown was slow but it was steadily seeing an increase of sales and all was looking good for the shop to get back on track. Unfortunately, Auckland had a 2nd lockdown. LMS has not recovered from the 2nd lockdown. Linda is asking you to donate to her business to help keep the shop open. Without your support the shop will have to close. Note: the landlord has been helpful beyond measure. They want LMS in their building, they are and have been doing everything possible for the shop to stay.

What funding will be used for:

* Shop Rent and Utilities

* Shop Expenses: accounting software, marketing, website

* Shop Stock purchases reproduction and vintage clothing (keeping these garments out of

landfills)

DESIRED FUTURE OUTCOME

To support the community by hiring locally :

* Hire Staff ie. Shop Manger, part time sales person

* Hire casual sewist for LMS clothing brand It's So You! and McCarthy Collection. (At present Linda

sews all of LMS clothing brands. An additional sewist is required to speed up

production.)

Hiring staff would give Linda the time to manage other aspects of her business moving forward.
