Please help support me in pursuing a two year Master's in Performance Euphonium at the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester.
Kilbirnie, Wellington
Kia ora!
My name is Luke Spence. I'm a Euphonium player born and bred in Whakatane and based in Te Whanganui-a-Tara | Wellington. I come from a family of brass musicians, and I've been playing brass since I was 8 years old. I completed a Bachelor of Music with Honors at the NZ School of Music and I am currently the Principal Euphonium of Wellington Brass Band and the National Band of NZ.
I've recently been accepted to study a Master's of Music Performance on Euphonium at the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester, starting this September. The RNCM is one of the most prestigious music schools in the world and I am incredibly fortunate to have the opportunity to learn from some of the top brass players of this generation. I will be learning from two of the greatest Euphonium players of this generation in Steven Mead and David Thornton who have performed extensively all around the world.
My goal is to perform with some of the top musical ensembles in Europe representing NZ in some of the most famous concert halls. I will be shifting from Wellington to Manchester in September to start this next chapter in my musical journey. Unfortunately the costs of the fees and living costs combined to complete this two year degree are substantial and in excess of $100,000. This give a little campaign will be a huge help in assisting me to cover these costs.
Thanks for helping boost me to England! All your support is invaluable, as every last penny makes a huge difference.
The money will be spent on the fees to study a Masters degree at the Royal Northern College of Music. If I do not reach the full amount set out on my page, all funds received will go towards the fees required to study at the RNCM which are significant.
