We are trucking along over here. Maia is improving ever day and continuing with all of her recoveries.

Maia did an exclusive interview with the That's Life magazine which hit the shelves in New Zealand today! Issue 9, 2025. 😁

As many have seen, Maia did a video update for her workplace Seed Waikato and NZ Herald did an update off of this. Grateful for the updates being shared to all the wonderful people who helped search, shared missing person fb posts and have contributed to Maia's dental fund here. We appreciate every single moment of help.

Since Maia's work update her leg brace now has 90° range of motion however she is very slowly working up to actually making this much movement. She will start physio shortly to rehab her tendon.

There has been a bit of a delay on the denture, but Maia is embracing her new smile so beautifully!

Appointments have also been made in late April to start the process of implants, they just can't rush these as her jaw bone needs to be full healed before anything like that is done.

Maia's collarbone has not healed at this point, but the orthopedic surgeons said they will leave it another 6wks before discussing surgery, so fingers and toes are crossed that heals on its own 🤞

There is a metal wire holding Maia's tendon in place that will come out in a few months once they're absolutely sure it can hold on its own.

And of course the concussion symptoms are ongoing and quite severe at times with Maia feeling burnt out quite easily. But all in all we are doing so well and Maia is doing amazing 🥰

I sat here this morning going through each and every donation and am again just blown away by the love and support from friends, family, my neighborhood and complete strangers who came together at an impossibly tough time of year to search for my girl and then to financially help us all after she was found.

I am so beyond grateful for all of the support to our family in this incredibly tough time.

While Maia is embracing gumby life with her missing teeth and is still her confident beautiful self, she is getting closer to being fitted with a temporary plate and has been referred for implants in a few months time when her facial fractures and jaw bone are healed.

Catching up with Orthapedics today and hopefully get a plan in place for rehabilitation on Maias leg which is still in a straight brace due to the torn tendon.

Maia is looking forward to the future when her colar bone and ribs are healed enough to get back in the gym as it is her happy place.

One day at a time still, but she is healing well and I am forever grateful for every single piece of support from each and every one of you 🥰

Maia continues to heal while resting up at home with me back in Totara Park. Grateful for this extra time together despite the circumstances.

We met with the Dentist this morning and had a couple of dead teeth removed. Partial denture will be fitted in the coming weeks as a temporary measure until she can get implants in 6 - 12 months time.

Lower teeth look like they can be repaired/rebuilt however her lower lip needs to heal first for the dentist to be able to get to the lower teeth.

Healing takes a long time but so grateful she is alive and with us and able to heal 🥰

  • Use of Funds -

Once again huge thank you to each and every donation. Originally Blair set this page up to help family during this time.

Maia is going to need quite extensive dental treatment and ACC will only fund some of it. We all understand how expensive dentists are and so these funds will be making sure that Maia gets full dental repairs hopefully without leaving this injury in debt. Maias mental recovery will be hard enough, so I am advocating for her to not have ongoing physical injuries reminding her daily.

Again thank you every single one of you 🥰

Thank you SO much for every single donation!!! The generosity from so many people especially at Christmas when it's a tight time for all has just been mind blowing.

Thank you once again to the support from so many. Maia loves going through reading all of the lovely messages left xx my aim is that the majority of this money will go directly to Maia and Keri to get back on their feet at the end of this. They have a long road to recovery and I'm so glad they have each other through this. Some best friends are just everything you ever needed in life and more. And I think this money will really help through this tough time.
