    Good afternoon all,

It is with great sadness that I must announce that Mama’s health has taken a very unexpected turn. Within about a week she has gone from being picky with her meals to no longer eating or drinking at all. She is also very weak and finding it hard to support her own weight. I’ll be spending the entire day with Mama today and come 8am tomorrow morning she will be crossing the rainbow bridge ❤️ Mama, I love you more than you will ever know.. please come and see me in my dreams

I thought this would be worthy enough to share with you all 😅 today I took Mama to the Botanical Gardens in Manurewa, which we frequently visit because it’s so nice there. As anyone who has ever been would know, majority of the main walking section is a shared zone between pedestrians and vehicles but the only vehicles that use those shared zones are usually staff. So imagine my surprise when Mama suddenly yanked me around and I saw 2 boys on a dirt bike riding straight towards us at a high speed 😵😵 we reacted just fast enough to run out of their way because they were not stopping at all. Moral of the story is that Mama had spun me around so fast I basically did a 180 (which she btw has never done before) to warn me about the on coming danger, I seriously would not have known as I had my earphones in and loud music playing.. which I’d say is pretty fair because the Gardens are honestly the last place you expect to get run over 🥴🥴 so thanks for saving me Mama ❤️ You’re my little superhero

Pic is an old one but this is what Mama’s ears do in the wind 🤣

What a Super Hero alright. And especially in the gardens. I follow Mama on Wild Kuri so it’s always nice to see her out and about. Thank you for sharing and I look forward to any/all updates, good and bad. Have an awesome week and big kiss and cuddle for Mama from me. ❤️🐕🐾

Good evening everyone, I first of all want to start this message by thanking you all for supporting myself and Mama through this journey, please know that we would not have gotten this far without your help 💜

The results of Mama’s test have come back showing a very high indiciation of lymphoma, which is sadly incurable and will eventually take my Mama from me. This does make me incredibly sad because I did try to do everything I possibly could to get her through this.. I have been told that we do at least have a few months left with Mama, since the cancer has shrunk after we’ve started steroid medication. We have no more vet or specialist appointments scheduled and this remaining time will be spent making Mama know that she is the most loved doggy in the world, after finding out this news Mama has enjoyed 3 ice creams and a cheeseburger! We’ll continue on as normal as possible for the next few months and make the most of what we have left 🥰 I’ll continue to use this page to send you all updates but turn off the donations function.

Thank you so much for the update on Mama. I’m so sorry to hear it’s not the best news. My old girl went through pretty much the same thing and it is hard but you just love them and spend as much time as you can with them. It was a heartbreaking decision for me in the end but I knew it was for the best. She was just shy of 14yrs but had the best life and she was deaf! I have her ashes with me and still talk to her! Thank you for sharing Mamas journey and I wish you both the very best! I will be thinking of you both and sending love and prayers from me and my girl Blondie as well! Give Mama a big kiss and cuddle from me! 🥰 Look forward to updates. ❤️❤️🙏🐕🐾

    Hi all,

Just wanted to give you another update on Mama’s condition. About a week ago I felt a lump in Mama’s throat and called her regular vet so get that checked out, yesterday they took a sample and sent it to the specialists who we saw today. Luckily it does look like this lump is benign and hopefully should not progress to anything more serious, so that’s some good news. For today’s appointment with the specialist team at VSA Mt Wellington, Mama had an ultrasound done which showed the mass in her chest has shrunk.. now this is very good news and I’m quite relieved about that however it has gotten so small that they were unable to perform the biopsy. The biopsy was the most important step as this would have told us if the mass was lymphoma or a thymoma, the later being the treatable cancer. Considering they could not perform that test at this time we did opt for a finer needle test that has a 50/50 chance of giving us the information we need. Once those results become available I will be providing more updates. As for Mama, she didn’t have to stay the night there anymore, so she’s back home with me and she’s fallen asleep as soon as we got home. She’s a little wobbly on her toes and seems a little bit out of it but that should only be temporary ☺️ I’ll be hearing more from Mama’s doctors in the next few days and hopefully I can make sense out of all of it (it’s getting a little complicated understanding all this medical stuff lol) in the meantime please keep Mama in your prayers and hope we get some answers ! 🥰🥰🥰

  • Mama’s booked in to see specialist

      20 September 2021

Hi all, thank you so much to every single one of you that have helped us, we appreciate this more than words can explain! Thanks to all of your donations, Mama is booked in to see Dr Wen-Jie Yang at the Mt Wellington branch of Veterinary Specialists Auckland. Although it looks like we haven’t made the target yet, myself and Mama have been very busy throughout lockdown selling a lot of our pre loved items through Facebook marketplace, luckily we have sold enough to make up the difference ( good work Mama on letting go of some of your old toys, leashes and clothes ❤️). We’re booked in to see the specialist on Wednesday 29th.. glad they text reminded us because I actually thought it was this Wednesday 😅😅 we should have the results the following week and I’ll let you all know how that goes!!!
