Help Maria Luisa fight for her life and cover her urgent medical costs.
Our beloved Maria Luisa Siscar is fighting for her life in the ICU at Asian Hospital and Medical Center in the Philippines.
She and her husband (Romeo Siscar) travelled from their home in New Zealand for a short family visit. They never imagined their trip would become a medical emergency. She suddenly became critically ill and required urgent lung surgery. She is now battling severe pneumonia and a pulmonary embolism and remains in intensive care, needing ongoing treatment.
She normally lives in New Zealand, where eligible healthcare is publicly funded. But because this happened overseas, her treatment in the Philippines is not covered by New Zealand's public health system. Her family is facing the full cost of her surgery, ICU care and ongoing treatment.
Her hospital bill has now reached ₱742,000 (approximately NZ$22,000), and it continues to rise. Her family's savings are rapidly running out as they do everything possible to keep her treatment going.
Maria Luisa is a loving mother, devoted wife, sister and aunt, cherished by so many. Right now, our greatest hope is to give her the best chance to recover and eventually come home to New Zealand.
We humbly ask for your help. Every donation, no matter how small, can help keep her treatment going. Please share this page as well with your family, friends and networks and keep Maria Luisa in your thoughts and prayers.
Thank you for helping us stand beside her and giving our family hope during this incredibly difficult time.
